Privacy policy

Squash Ladder (squashladder.in) helps players join club ladders, arrange matches and record results. This page explains, in plain words, what we keep about you and why. We never sell your data and we show no adverts.

What we keep

• Your name, and the phone number and/or email you sign in with.
• Optional profile details you choose to add: age, gender, the city and club you play at, and your playing level.
• What you do on the site: ladders you join, challenges, match scores, Social Squash games and the free times you give in Find me a partner.
• Basic technical records: sign-in attempts (to spot problems and abuse) and error reports (without your name, phone or email).
• Anonymous visit counts: which pages are opened, for how long, from which country and city (worked out from the network, no address is kept) and whether on a phone or a computer. A random number on your device tells repeat visits apart.

Who can see it

• Everyone can see your name, playing level, the ladders you are on, your rank and your match results.
• Players on your ladders can see your phone number so you can arrange matches, unless you turn this off in Edit profile. Your email is shown only if you choose to show it.
• Site admins can see contact details to help with problems, fix results and keep ladders fair.
• Your age and gender are never shown publicly.

Why we use it

• To run the ladders: rankings, challenges, scores and disputes.
• To tell you about challenges and results (on the site, by email and, if you turn them on, phone alerts).
• To keep accounts safe and the site working.

Services that help us run the site

Your data is stored and processed by these providers, only to run Squash Ladder:

• Supabase (database and sign-in)
• Vercel (hosting)
• Resend (emails)
• Twilio (sign-in codes by text message)
• Sentry (error reports, with personal details removed)

Cookies and storage

We use only what the site needs: a sign-in cookie to keep you signed in, and small settings stored on your device (for example, that you closed a banner, or the random visit number above). No advertising or tracking cookies, and nothing is shared with advertisers.

Your choices

• Change or remove your details any time in Edit profile.
• Hide your phone number or email from other players in Edit profile → Notifications and privacy.
• Delete your account in Edit profile. Your name, phone and email are removed and you leave every ladder; past match results stay on the ladder as "Former player" so other players' history is not changed.
• Ask us for a copy of your data or to correct it (see below).

How long we keep it

While your account exists. Read notifications are removed after 90 days. After you delete your account, only the anonymous match results remain.
